So I'm on the way home from the gym and I'm minding my own business. I look over to my left and see a nice white C6 pacing me, but about a 1/2 car length ahead. I pull up to the passenger's side window to give the guy a thumbs up and the dumb shit guns it. So I pulled up again signaling him to roll down the window. Guess what...the dumb shit guns it again. This happened at least 4 times. :bang:

Finally he gets it and puts his window down. I said, "It's too cold I'll just burn 'em up!". The guy responds by saying "Yeah :rolleyes:" in a sarcastic tone as if to say "sure buddy, you just don't have the power." Riiiigggghhhhttt...

It's 30*F (20* w/ wind chill) and I'm on Kumho's for the winter. I figured I'd show him that I'll just go up in smoke. So at 40mph I dumped 'er into 2nd gear and tapped the gas. The rear end kicked out to the left about 2 feet. I pedalled it and it kicked out 2 feet to the right then I let out. Just a little display of power since he dead hooked on street tires in the middle of the winter! :jest:

I think he honestly believed he would've taken me. There should be some sort of test given to people prior to buying a performance car. Dumbasses should have be required by law to drive Neon's.

It's the "off the shelf mentality." Of course, if you buy a car that's normally faster stock than another car you will always win. :eyes: That makes it even more satisfying when you bust their ass. I hope you run into that guy again and hand him his ass on a silver platter.

Im pretty sure a C6 could break em loose at 40 MPH in cold :P The guy sounded like a tool though.

Haha, I actually let some punk kid in an STI get a piece of the limping ws6 yesterday. Still ripped him a new one by a few bus's though.

Tires are getting changed tomorrow over to my winter Firehawks (with no nail) ... and hopefully no more snow.

I read an article on the C6 that stated that they were 13.XX and 12.9 cars in the 1/4. I just glanced at it and did not see the exact reason. I do, however know that the magazine stated that most of the 1/4 times people have been reporting for C6's are in the low 13's range. Stock, GM quotes 12.6 M6 and 13.1-2 for the Auto. My personal opinion is that after 01-02 nothing from GM made much more hp than the stock LS1 with an LS6 intake in a TA or Z except maybe the Z06 version, the rest was marketing and hype. I personally expected more from the new Vette, but they do look nice...

Your thinking is seriously flawed......The new C6 runs about like a stock 04 Z06....as much as a full second and 5-10 mph difference in the 1/4 compared to a stock 01 F-bod.....Go out and test drive one, you will see the light. ;)

it's got the power, but the torque management kills you on the shifts....

You should have just went to third and busted that ass anyway.

Personally, I love the new Vette. Small, gorgeous lines, not much larger than the NSX with a kick ass motor. The new Z-06 is gonna be absolutely SICK!

My favorite part of the NAIS was the zo6 aluminum chassis and drivetrain that gm had; 3100#s and 500hp is pretty dope....then i felt like a moron that it took me till i saw that to figure out what the heck a drive shaft tunnel was for:bang: :jest:

Nice generalization. Ford guys think GM guys are tools, domestic guys think import guys are tools and vice versa. Stock for stock a 2002-2004 Z06 will run 12.3 ( good driver on drag radials will run high 11's) the new C6 with a six speed and Z51 pkg. will run around a 12.6..Z06 pulls over a G on the skid pad and the C6 pulls about .93 G..close but not the same..Z06 comes in almost 200 lbs. lighter is a real street figher..not many buttons and bells...C6 is nice smooth, refined, and sneeky fast and has all the fluff...real diffferent personalities...up over 145MPH the C6 will start to pull away on the Z06..better drag coefficient and a more agressive 5th gear than the Z06...stock f body cars are not in this league.. :)

Thank you for this summary. Finally somebody who knows a little about cars. The f-bodies never were in the same class as the vettes, esp a Z06. The ass clown who thinks the LS1 f-body with the LS6 garb is the best GM ever made just isn't thinking right.

The C-6 was never made for drag racing. The entire care was tested and tuned at Nurburgring in Germany. Idiots who think the C-6 is king of the road stop light to stop light are dead wrong. I have driven a C-6 (thought about getting rid of the hawk), and by far it is the fastest car I have driven over 100mph, better than a 911 or a viper. Plus, the C-6 is a hellovalot smoother ride. Please don't knock a vette just because it got beat by a car set-up for 1/4 mile racing. BTW, I drove the C-6 at atlanta motor speedway, and barely broke the Ice in the throttle-and it in no way lacks torque like was mentioned.

My car absolutely is NOT setup for drag racing. It's a daily driver with 100% bone stock suspension and stock wheels all around. Of course I run drag radials in the summer, but that is a DOT approved tire that sees heavy rain...certainly not slicks and skinnies.

The C6 is setup for drag racing just as much as my car...actually it's much better off at the track stock suspension for stock suspension.
