Front wheel drive camaro My buddy said that he read in car and river magazine that there is a chance the new camaro (2007?) might be front wheel drive. Can someone please clarify this for me? This can't be true.

First of all, the industry seems to be trending AWAY from FWD (thank God) right now and, second, it'd be a marketing disaster. Can you imagine the shitstorm that GM would catch both internally and from the enthusiasts if after killing the Camaro in the first place, they brought it back as wrong-wheel drive? I just can't see any sane exec at GM buying into that plan.

If GM decides to make the Camaro FWD, if at all, they will KILL the Camaro name. Ok, yea they converted the Monte and Impala to FWD but IMO, they were never as big of a name as Camaro. I really hope GM brings back the camaro, and I REALLY hope it's not FWD.

Go check out some other Camaro forums. "Fbodyfather" (the head of GM's Camaro department) has said many many many times, "Yes it will be RWD, Yes, it will be v8" etc etc.
He also keeps saying, "have faith"
I for one, was comforted by his posts. Actually, I think he posts here as fbodfather. Can't remember the other forum he posted too, but he also used the name, "Redplanet"
