Pontiac GTO 2004-2006 - Lug Nut Covers keep falling off

Does anyone else have this problem with their GTO? What a piss-poor design....they just slide on, not screw on like the f-bodies. Mine is an 04 & we've had it a week & 6 are gone. I told the dealer they could keep buying them for me (for 6 years) or buy me a set of chrome lug nuts & be done with it. What a pitiful annoyance on a new car! :(

Odd, i havent had a problem with it yet that I know of. You could always use a little poster tack on the inside which should hold them on better.

Kind of a good tip there... sad that it is needed... but cheap and ingenious!

order the SLP lugnuts and caps package for $20. much better than the stockers

Actually, you can use some outside threaded lugnut like GM uses on F-Body's and virtually every other vehicle of theirs and then get the screw on caps.

I was going to convert mine but I didn't have enough plastic caps to cover.

Or you could just get some nice chromed lugs to start and forget the caps altogether like I did with my new wheels :)

Yea, I lost one. It was a about a $15 dollar part!!!! What a joke for a little plastic molded POS. Glad GM paid for it.

I had problems with my caps staying on aswell. Just turn the caps to their point of resistance and they will be on there good!! Turn them too far and they will be loose again, look on the inside of them and you will understand what I'm talking about.

I had two fall off myself. I need to go pick them up tomorrow. I'll be sure to check that point of resistance.

I had one fall off. Found it out in the street and used some duct tape to hold it on. But that was it for me. I ordered the $20 set from SLP. 20 lugnuts and caps. I went with the black caps. No chance of falling off. At least in the last 17 years of having these things, I haven't had one come off :)
