FOR ALL CARS ARMED WITH LS1 .. join us ! the questions are : what engine oil u r using ? why this oil not that ? do u drain all the oil out then refill it again or u just add some ? for how long do u keep it inside ? i know it sounds silly ... but, i have been dealing with the LS1 for 6 years now and i met many people with defferent thoughts about this issue .. so i thought i might share it with u guys 2 .

See no reason not to use it. No oil consumption. only slight piston slap.

mobile 1 syn 5w30... every 2300-3500 is how often i remember the longest and shortest.. when i did 2300 i went ahead and changed it early cuase i was racing/spraying 2-3 times a week for about a 2 month stretch.. i usually get her done about every 3000 miles though except in the last two months ive only put about 400 miles on the car so ill prolly just change it at the 4 month mark rather then relying on miles this time.

Mobil 1 5w-30 (proven), when the light comes on to change oil.
No oil leaks, no oil added or yes I do change all the oil on a oil change even use a new filter.
What info are you sharing?

I use Race Proven Performance Formula 15-50 Mobile 1. This is in my forged block h/c and nos Formula which i tend to abuse daily. I change the oil at 3000 on the dot. Never uses a drop. Good oil pressure.

I use Mobil 1 0w-40 and a Napa Gold filter. Change every 5000 miles. Reason I use it is thy guy that does works on my car and Patman said it was great stuff. I trust their judgement on oil. This and Castrol 0w-30 German stuff are said to be the best for our cars. Do a search on Mobil and it will tell you a lot.

2) It's never let me down before,nor been proven to be a waste of $$$
3)just add some if it's low, or else see #4

2)why this oil not that? I drive hella miles (~520 per week)

The girl has 115k on the clock, so far so good; de minimus amount of oil consumption.

Summer 6 1/4 qts Schaeffer 15W-40 PAO Blend
Winter 4qts Schaeffer 10W-30 Blend @ 2 1/4qts 15W-40 Blend
They are coming out with a 5W-40 PAO Blend I will be switching to in March and will use it all year round.
I use this oil as it by far outperforms Mobil 1 for $2.72 a quart.
Change oil and filter at 3K miles because i'm ****. The oil could go alot further easily.
