Default Strongest Streetable Rear End?

I'm going to buy a LS1 f-body with the A4 but I am planning my mods early so I know what I'll want to buy once I get the car. I'm planning on starting at the back of the car and working forward. Anyway, it will be street use only with the occasional 1/4 mile race on a deserted road/street. My ultimate goal is a forged 383 or similar with enough turbo'd boost to get around 700-800 rwhp. I'll be running a high stall converter and ET streets out back. I will be having a reputable shop install the unit so that I don't mess anything up, lol. What should I buy and what options should I get along with it to make it as strong as possible, yet streetable? Thanks,
T.J.

EDIT: Oops, I forgot to add that this will be a daily driven car. Also, ABS doesn't really matter to me but if it will be a hassle to not have it then I'll obviously keep it.

You will need a 12 bolt or 9" ford. For the street, if you will be running that much power, no more than 3.73 gears. And one more comment, 800rwhp is not streetable. Streetable is 15mpg or so, you will be getting like 1mpg with that much motor.Talk to moser or currie for a rear.

here's a vote for a 9". 12 bolts break too easy on the street. A twin turbo 383 could be pretty streetable.

I'll throw my .02 in here. Strong and streetable are somewhat opposed in this case. A 12 bolt or 9" would be fine for steet or strip use but for the street you really want a heavy posi unit to be streetable and it will be the weak point in the rear. You could go with a locker or a spool but they aren't really street friendly. 3:73 gears are fine for an auto both on and off the track. Now a posi isn't going to like to see 800 RWHP too often which is why I say a spool or a locker would better handle that kind of power but they aren't very street friendly.

Another vote for the 9" with a locker. Don't even think about any hard launches on posi with that kind of power. Call Billingsley----->

I had 9" with 35 spline gundrilled and a spool in my daily driver. No problems, most of the time you couldnt tell the spool was there. Find a buddy with a spool and go for a ride, youll find out how not streetable they really are

Wow, maybe my power goals should come down some. How much power can I safely run on the street with a streetable rear end and still beat just about anything I race? How about 600 rwhp? I've owned a couple f-bodies but none anywhere near the power levels that I'm talking about so I guess I don't really realize how much power that is, I just want to make these high dollar cars look slow.

does eaton make their e-locker for a 12 bolt or 9 inch? with the flip of a switch you can go from limited slip to locker. if it is available that sounds like it might work for you.

I PMed PureEvl last night and he responded with saying that 600rwhp was so streetable that he is going to get a 408 with 14 psi to make 800-900 rwhp in the near future. I guess "streetable" means completely different things to different people because he seems to think that 600rwhp is not near enough power for him on the street. So a 9" with a locker will be fine for normal street driving as well as racing?
Thanks again for the help,
T.J.

6.50 used to be the limit, now they have a 7.17 available. All those ratios are for small oval track cars.
