I was making my 4th pass at the local track this weekend and the car was fixin to make its 1-2 shift and took it all the way to 7000 RPM's before switching. I can still drive the car but there is no 1-2 shift, it goes straight to 3rd now. I'l drive it to about 2500 RPM about 20 mph , let off the gas and get back in it to be in third. What do yall think is wrong? I went and got estimate on rebuild for the 4L60E and that **** is expensive as hell. Any suggestions?

Do you have a temp gauge? If so, did the tranny get hot or does it get hot driving around town? Does the fluid look dirty or smell burnt?

Mine did that, I burnt up the clutches in mine. I had no 2nd gear after racing, I had to drive around with it shifting from 1st to 3rd for awhile until I could save up enough money to buy my Rossler 4l60e

sounds like you smoked the band, in which case you would also have n 4th, or possibly the sprag. Either way, its time to rebuild

You could have also blown one of the rings in the 2nd Piston housing. I did that to mine, and it started doing the same thing. Until it cracked the case.
