Default Weight Diffirence from Vert to Hard Top

I bought George Baxters 8 Sec. 30th back in Oct. and ran his car in a Class in the PSCA and ran a best of 8.75 @ 161 with a 1.38 60ft basically leaving near Idle a ok maybe 2k -2500 RPM's(Big Diffirence from 10.00 to 8.70's so I am still trying to get used to the car). The Class that I am racing the car in has a minimum race weight of 3300#'s for my setup and it weighed 3480#'s so I took everything out of the Vert and put in into my 02 Z28 Hard Top and I weighed it today race weight is now 3350#'s still with the door speakers and door bars.So now I don't see any problem with being closer to target weight.I have a Race this weekend in Las Vegas so hopefully I can do a bit better. The class Record is 8.41.

Oh yeah and the 97 Vert now has a 408 Iron LS1 NOS which is almost running as well. Hoping to run 9.10's -20's with this setup.

nice times! what do you have for a motor/trans setup. i've heard of George, and thought he had a standard, non LS1 SBC. is that right? if so, i'd love to know what it's got in it. also, the hardtop should be a bit more rigid than the vert so long as the car is tied and caged equally at least. take some more weight out of the car and you can add ballast anywhere you need the weight to be and have a BIG difference.

later,
Dave

Yeah it is is a Dart Block 383 SBC with Brodix Heads and an X Trim Blower TH400 9 inch.I already have a 85mm Turbo (Class Rules Size) but my Header Guy took to long on my friends carand left me with no time to be ready for the Race this weekend so I just put the Blower back on for now.So sometime this year I will switch over to the Turbo.
