I started reading this board and the hptuners board back in October. Now I have a so-so understanding of what is going on. It will come together for me once I can long some data and start tuning when/if the snow melts. It's not easy, it is not something you will pick up in a day or be able to complete in a weekend.

You can download the hptuners manual from their site, this was a huge help for me. http://www.hptuners.com/pub/VCM%20Suite.chm

if you can read you can tune imo, but you have to be able to sift through the BS thats out there and figure out on your own what works and what doesnt and why.

The tool itself is straightforward. The PCM is what's
full of mysterious mumbo jumbo. The mainstream
stuff, air, fuel, spark, is just data representing the
same old Otto cycle piston engine. But the stuff around
the edges, there's excessive amounts. Good news is, only
some of it matters. Bad news is, you have to figure out
which. But there's plenty of folks around to ask.

It's a power tool. Therefore, you need it

I agree with everything that's been said.

Does the car run decent now (with the stock tune)? It's alot easier when you start with something that isn't too screwed up from the begining and then slowly work your way along threw it all. Based on your mod list it would look like the car would run on the stock tune and then you could tweak it to perfection and then add that cam, see what that does and adjust for it..ect..ect.
