Default 550rwhp via n20 vs 550rwhp via supercharger ... which is quicker?

On top of that, what about with a turbo making 550rwhp? Which out of the three would be quicker, and what approximate times considering all other things being equal (a4/stock weight/slicks/3.73 gears). I have heard spray would be 1 second quicker than a blown car but is that true?

I would also vote for nitrous. With N2O you will have full torque from the power adder at whatever RPM you engage it until you shift or let off. With turbos and blowers it's more peaky, with less area under the curve. No way is it going to be a second difference though, probably less than a tenth.

For a 1/4 mile it would be N20, Turbo, then Super Charger with every thing else being equel with the car. Say like, 3 stock 02 TA's all of them put down the same #'s and every one makes 550hp on the dot. You have to look at the torque curve. This has been posted about before in great debate. Do a quick search and then you would get all the details why.

But your N/A horsepower just ain't enough vs. my blower and nitrous.

For a 550rwhp street car, I'm going with nitrous. For a full blown 2,000hp racecar, my choice is turbo all day long.

Im going with nitrous, the amount of torque that nitrous gives you low end would end up being alot higher than the 550hp your getting out of it.

The nitrous ls1 would win, not sure by how much but the rwtq is usually quite a bit more then a blown ls1

My car made 550rwhp and 630rwtq and I know for a fact I would pull on a blown LS1 with 550rwhp!
well that is when my car was running
maybe just one day my car might be able to make 550rwhp n/a

n2o, plus u donthave to drive around with 550hp all the time, only when ur bottle is open.. with fi or what not, ur always putting added stress on the motor, n2o is perfect for the street strip machine~!

Well its kind of a tricky question, if you had all 3 power adders making the same hp and tq then it would be a little easier to answer. But in most conditions the tq on nitrous is going to be higher than a sc, and it is not going to have to wait to build boost. So having that said if you put all three in identical conditions then it would be a really close race, but I would have to say the n20 car would jump out of the gate the quickest but as you run down the track the bottle pressure would be falling off as a boost car would be gaining speed, so the boosted app would have advantages in the big end. Now that is the loaded question part, cause if you had 2 x 15#bottles then you would not run out of spray but like wise a well build boost app would leave @ almost full boost outta the gate as well.. The main factor I would be looking at would be the tq #'s, having the hp the same. Now that really dosent answer the question but just my .02 of things 2 consider, I dont agree with the second quicker than boost statement though..

Definitely the juice in the 1/8th or the 1/4. HP numbers being equal that is!
