Not bad at all. What was your race weight? What kind of tire were you running?

congrats! That et should equal 11.60s-11.80s on the 1/4. And that means you shouldn't need a bar if this is an NHRA track.

It is a IHRA track and only 1/8 mile. We wern't too sure of the rule to argue with them. What was the final rule, do you know?

this was the discussion had a few months back:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...=nhra+roll+bar

IHRA used to be what NHRA is now (11.49 or quicker requires 5-point bar in t-top or hardtop, 13.49 or quicker in convertible). Then they "supposedly" changed it to 11.99 and quicker on the roof cars, and made t-tops follow the same rules as a convertible. Then on 1/21/05 the IHRA revised the rule on t-tops stating they didn't have to follow convertible rules and instead follow hardtop rules. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this, as I don't race IHRA and don't have a rulebook.

I have the rule book The T-top cars are now to follow the same rules as a convertible.quote from rule book (A minimum of 6 point roll bar is manditory all convertibles including t-tops running 11.00 to 13.49 1/4 mile and 8.25 and faster 1/8th mile) Oh well time to order up a roll cage lol

crazy,

As I posted above, t-tops DO NOT follow convertible guidelines as of a 1/21/05 revision on the IHRA website (www.ihra.com) You may want to send an e-mail to the IHRA tech director to clarify before installing.....

I called the main tech director of the IHRA about the roll cage issue. He said T-TOP cars are to follow hard top rules. He said any car running below 7.49 1/8 mile has to have a roll bar he said just the single hoop was fine dont have to have a cage.

Hey I got some stock heads you can put on your car and you should be fine. No extra weight. Sorry, J/K...I thought that that was the rule but wasn't sure. It has seem to have changed alot since they first started talking about changing it. Did he say when you needed a cage? I might be in trouble there.
