Default First Spray...Nervous?

With spring making its way here..this will be the first time i will be running nitrous ever. And to be quite honest...im nervous as hell lol. I realllly dont need something to go wrong here..and its to the point where im like should i or shoulden't I.

My set-up is pretty safe im guessing. NX Wet Kit.NX purge, WOT switch, Fuel Pressure Safety Switch, Bottle Warmer, Remote Opener, BMN window switch(first gear lock out activated) NGK tr-6(gap .35) Walbro 255 intank pump.

I was originally thinking of spraying a 150 shot...but now like i said..im pretty nervous..i dunno what to run.

I need a kick in the *** guys! lol

The cars a 99 with about 65K on it.

I was nervous on my first sprayed car back in 99, sad to think thats 6 years ago. But it looks like you have taken just about every saftey percaution you possibly can. Heres the thing though, you will be worried to spray it the first time, as soon as you stop spraying that time, youll be trigger happy. My LS1, is my first car that didnt need nitrous to be deciently fast. So i find myself not using it that often, or even at all at random cars that try to run me. But on the weekends, out with the real races, its gets used alot.

Start with the smaller shot and then get bigger up 2 150. You will feel fine that way, plus it will be safer to see what is going on with the setup.

Yeah, ditto what 97LT1 said. Just start out with a small shot. That way if something does go wrong, less chance of major damage. And yes, it is VERY addicting. I had it on my car for a few months, then disabled it because I was pushing my luck. Not gonna spray again until I can get it on the dyno and get it tuned.

Lean is lean guys.... it doesnt matter if its a 75 or 150 shot....

I started right with the 150. Driving down the road my leg was shaking from the adrinline rush.... stopped... let out the clutch and RPMs crept to 3000 and WHAM!!!!!!!!! I was addicted 110%. The rush was undescribable! I went to a 200 soon after and the feeling of being sideways at 90+ is awesome! Im still jonesin' for it and I dont even spray anymore.

N/A will never be the same. Its just so....... boring

The first time I sprayed my car I thoguht my heart was going to jump out of my chest, lol. After the first run, however, I was hooked! I started off with the 100 shot, then moved up to a 150. I was going to start with a 75, but I figured if it goes lean, im screwed anyways so might as well go big.

First off hey Antz01ta I never thought I would see another with basiclly the same avatar as me! When I got my n20 hooked up I was scared at all to spray it . I bought TPS,digital WS,FPSS,heater, purge, blowdown tube,A/F switch-everything possible. The second time I sprayed my 4.8 I started to get a nasty clanking under the hood. I couldnt believe that sh*t was happening especially since my buddy with the same truck/motor was spraying with just a pushbutton all day long with no problems. I replaced the cam, springs, pushrods and it fixed the noise although none of those stock items were damaged at all. Two weeks later after no n20 the motor died. I put a LS1 in and 4 days later I started to get some knocking and it was a piece of metal that got on top of a couple of pistons and scared them up along with the heads. Everything ended up costing me close to 5k not counting the n20 parts! So you could imagine I was scared to spray the new LS1-hell I was scared to drive it n/a ! I finally told myself if its gonna happen its gonna happen and finalyl sprayed the LS1 3-4 weeks later. I dont want to scare you off but you have to tell yourself there is a risk involved but if its gonna happen its gonna happen. All the safety things just help prevent these things but are not a for sure deal! Spray it! You will be fine! Almost everytime I spray my leg shakes for like 3 minutes after!

The first time you spray, you will either crap in your pants or not be too impressed. I have never had a wet kit so I cant tell you too much about that, i have a safer dry kit. It is safer, but most say they do not work as well. But anyway like everyone else said, start small, then when comfortable, up your jettings. It sounds like to me you have all of the basic safety features and they should be able to shut the system down in case something does go wrong. GOOD LUCK HIT IT!!!!!

dont be nervous about hurting somthing, be nervous about losing control of the car. If ur going to dog on it, make sure you can handle whatever the car does. my Buddy Buster has a 383 with a 220 shot, and he stabbed into it from a 70 mph roll and all it did was walk all accross the interestate *** sideways (150 shot jets.)

Go from a 100 and work ur way up.

Welcome to ur addiction.

I started with a 75 shot and half filled bottle. I was like "hmm, not to impressive.." then I upped to a 100 shot with the same empty bottle... I said.." WOW! nice!"... then I upped to a 125 with a full bottle and said "h0ly chit!"..

Start with a 75 just to get the idea of what a small shot feels like, and progressively go up to 100, then 125, then 150 and see what suits you best. But if you wanna skip all the BS, just do a 150 because you're going to end up doing it anyway.

Whats up 99ws6transam. Your Jaquies friend right? from the east side? Well...I think you'll be good with what you are doing. Like everyone else though, I would start off with a smaller jet that 150. If your nervous, go 75, then 100, then 150. You should be good either way though. you have lots of safty equiptment with your kit.

I'm sprayin for the first time ever this spring too. I'm doin a 100 shot dry setup. Should be fun. Maybe I'll see ya around tele this summer. Peace out!!!!
