Default Stock weight?

Currently I am putting the car on a diet since it's conversion to a track only car. My question is this. i have never had the car weighed, and just took a look at the door tag. It says... GVWR 4281! That seem sowfully heavy to me! Is this the weight of the car with a full load of gas and all fluids being full? Does anyone know how to convert this weight to a car with only 1/4 tank of gas? I am just wondering what weight I am starting with. Any help is appreciated. TIA

4281 is the gross vehicle weight. So if your car weighs 3500# you can safely load up another 781#. Gross vehicle weight is not dry or wet weight.

I thought GVWR was some type of number with how many passengers can be in it times the average wieght of a person. Like 160 or somthing times 4. then subtract that.

I don't know....?

The GVWR is what the vehicle weighs with the maximum # of passengers and cargo the manufacturer recommends.

You want the curb weight, which would be the weight of the car with fluids(not sure how much fuel), or the race weight which would be the curb weight plus the weight of the driver.

I reweighed my car today in strip trim and she weighed in at 3280 w/o me in it.

Mods as follows

!Passenger Seat (electronics and lumbar adj.)
!Rear Seat and seatbelts
!Bumper Support
!Swaybar
!Spare Tire
1/8 tank of gas
Battery relocated to the back.

I don't have the slip right now but I'll post up the front/rear weight bias for both trims.

Also went to the track today and got a new best 60' in worse weather and the nose comes up quicker and rides out longer during the lunch.
