Default Going to race a Supra this weekend...

Well i've got a race planned for this coming saturday night. It's a Black 95 Supra. It dyno'd 420rwhp when it was in california on 87octane and at 14lbs of boost. The boost is now turned up so it's got a bit more power. I'm also pretty sure it's a TT Supra converted into a single turbo.

My car is a 99A4 T/A, 3500stall, full exhaust, ported 80mm bbk tb, tuned with hp tuners, lid, filter, lca's, panhard rod, lca relocation brackets and nitto's. I also have a TNT F2 kit that will on the car by the end of the week.

The question is what is it gonna take to beat this car, how big of a shot am i going to need? Will a 100shot be enough or will i need to raise it up to a 125 or 150? Also i think he only wants to role race so what would be my best bet there? I know not to start at anything 70mph and up.

i'd do a 150 shot. My completely stock 122K LT1 bolton car took the shot just fine, and dropped 2 seconds off my ET at the track without hooking worth a damn too. That was a TNT-F2 kit also.

26 is not good for you

There is a guy where I live who thinks his supra is God but he wont race anyone until he knows its unbeatable...

Just make sure you get out of the hole good and maybe he wont catch up... Its really hard to say w/ those supras

Well the turbo he's running is a big single, not sure how big but it is "bigger" but it's not a ball bearing turbo so it takes a second to spool. Well this guy has some followers so i'm just trying to aim high and watch them all drop afterwards.

"I think he streets 12. herd of it going all the way up to 28.. But i really dont think he will turn it that high.. maybe 18? i dunno depends on how low of a roll ya'll go from i guess and if he has to play catchup. Like i said its eletronic so all he has to do is preset 2 setings and he can run lowerboost in 2nd and 3rd and then crank it in 4th."

That's what i was told by one of his friends, so what do you guys think?

"He runs 1.3barr which I think is around 14. He runs this all the time. He has ran it at 1.3barr since before I ran the viper on the interstate a long long time ago. He has turned it up pretty high before, somewhere around 28 and it spiked at like 30. He's running an SP61 turbo, I think those are the intials. I know it boils down that it's a T61? To answer your question, no he doesn't run 20lbs when he races. I know I said he runs a little more boost, but I forgot that he leaves it at 1.3 barr now. His car comes into boost really hard at like 4500 and stays firm until like 7k"

I think that info right there will pretty much sum up what he's got down and what i should look for.

Say you won't race unless it's from a dead stop. That'll give you some advantage

I'd feel a little better if you had a Cam to go with that nitrous. Make sure you don't race him from a roll....

DO NOT ROLL RACE. Go from a dig and kill him off the line. Hopefully he won't catch up. I've had slower manual cars beat me in roll races. You should do both, roll and dig.

Well i got new info and he usually runs 19lbs of boost. And if at all possible i'd like to go from a 25mph kick becasue as everyone knows thats a good spot with an A4, or a dig would be great also. But i'm sure he will want to atleast go from some sort of a higher roll so we'll probably do a 60roll. And i will be spraying a 150shot.

I've got one at my house it currenlty isnt' in the car, and probably wont' go in the engine that's in the car now. If you look in my sig i've got an extra block that is going to be built and everything is going to go in it.

Ok I am confused! I don't know many turbo guys that can run high boost and turns it down. I think some one if full of . The only reason some of the guys turn boost down on the street compared to runs at the track is because they use race gas and/or use propane injection. Now if this guy can run 26psi on the street why is he turning it down? I think some one is telling stories to make him self look fast when he isn't. That’s my 2 cents on that.

Now on to the race! Sucker him into starting from a dig. Hell give him the hit if that’s what it takes but try to get the race over with before he can build boost. Oh and don't spray until you are damn sure you will have traction when it comes on. Not to scare you but my money is on the Supra unless you have a cam that you left out of your mod list.

BTW Is the Supra an auto or stick? If he is an auto and can break boost to get the boost up off the line its game over for you. Sorry! I respect you for taking on a good car. So no matter what the out come is, have fun and be safe.

EDIT: oops I guess you answered the cam question.

You better race from a dig, supras cant hook for ****, so just plan on getting him out of the hole and lucky enough to hold him off never letting off the spray. If you race much farther than a 1/4 mile (which doesnt make much sense but who knows) he will inevitabely come flying past you.

I don't see how a non ballbearing single turbo supra ruunin 19lbs can be that damned fast. In most cases bolt-ons and a TNT 150shot isn't anything to **** with.

Go from a dig and go 150 shot. You'll have him. The higher you take the speeds the more ground he is going to make up on you. I say go 0 to 100 on the bottle and shut down. It'll be a clear win for you.
