What kind carpet to save wieght?
I've posted this before but I've heard Speed Inc. Carpet, and I've accually heard YearOne's carpet is really light also.
Any other alternatives that look good w/ Dark tinted windows
I've heard of people useing all sorts of stuff....like speaker style carpet...others
anyone have any suggestions or mabey what to stay away from.

i made my own using a few rolls of black pep boys carpet..stuff is super thin and light..just had to get creative with the cutting and gluing..with back seats out you can see some seams/overlaps still thought, but it was dirt cheap and not terribly hard(done it a few times now)

Have any of you compared the light weight carpet alternatives to the stock carpet with the jute removed? I was just curious how much more it saved over an unjuted stock piece.

The stock stuff is heavy even without the backing. It has a thick rubber pad, Just a guess but the lightweight stuff would still be about 10 lbs lighter even with the backing off.

thanks for the replys guys.
yeah, Speed Incs carpet I'm sure is a lot nicer than making the stuff from a roll, but the price just doesn't motivate me. I'm thinking I'm going to try to find some used black speedInc stuff, or go with the roll
What type of glue are you using to glue it down?

Just order any aftermarket replacement carpet.. I'm pretty sure most of them are just as light as the speed inc stuff. I bought some off ebay for my old 93 trans am and it was super light. I don't think there is anything special about the speed inc one.
