Default M6 Guys 4.10 ques

I am about to install my 9 inch with 4.10's. What will I expect out of this configuration? Will this be too much gear for a basically stock car? I got the normal lid headers OR Ypipe LM for power mods.
Will this combo get me in the low 12's right now I am running 12.8's.
If I can get a 12.2 I will be very happy.

What is your mph and current 60' ? It looks like a mid 1.6 or better would get you there, you may need a little weight reduction. First gear kicks with the 4.10s.

A change from 3.42 to 4.10 will make a big difference. However, I had terrible traction when I sprayed my M6, 4.10 r/p, SS with a 150 shot on BFG drag radials. But w/o NOS, you will be OK.

see i never under stand how people say that....big differeence between 342 and 410....

i jus put 410's in...and i havent noticed anything.... all i kno is my bar is 500 rpm more on the hightway..and that my speedo is off...

i bought into the 410 hype...i wish i didnt.. good luck in your decision...

It will be fun but it really isn't that big of a difference on a pretty much stock car. My car is basically stock and I have 4.11 gears. You will like them.

I love my 4.10's, best mod I could have made with the cam I run. I think they will wake up a stock car too.

I just had 4.10's installed in place of my 3.42's.. My car is mostly stock and I could tell a big difference. Not only in the rpm's and spedo, but she pulls alot harder now. Some traction issues I had a guy talk me out of 3.73's or even staying with my stock ration and i'm glad he did!!! No regrets here!!

It makes an interesting point: How much will ET improve on a completely stock M6 Z or SS, with the only mod being a change from 3.42 to 4.10 r/p? I added NOS and gears at the same time and didn't test gears-only, but I'm thinking ET would drop on average by .3/.5 second.

I dropped 3 tenths in the 1/4 with the only change being the 4.10s from 3.42s.

if you plan on nitrous fi or a big heads/cam i would go with 3.73's instead of 4.10's...the 3.73's i have already go quick enough...but as with everthing it's just personal pref.

I gained like .3 when I put 4.10's in. That was because I had street tires and I spun my *** off

Nittos made the difference.
