Default when you got a tune for the converter when does yours lock up?

i have a tci 3500 and my tune doesn't lock it up until drive , so if i leave from a redlight slow it stalls about 2200 till it shifts into drive and locks and then bogs at 1000 rpms

so how is yours tuned for the converter? and where do i want it to lock up?

I have a 4200 stall (with 3.42 gears, stock cam). I have 3rd gear lockup set @ ~40mph. I have found this works quite well when I'm driving around town. I can keep the tranny temps lower, save gas, but still be at high enough rpm's where I'm in the power band. I have 4th gear lockup set @ ~50mph. Same reasoning as above...when I'm on the highway, she'll lock which gives me better gas mileage and reduces the temps in the tranny...but I'm still in my powerband.

Some people have it tuned where the converter doesn't lock at all in 3rd..and at like 40 I think in drive. For me, if it locks in drive @ 40mph, my car has no power until she gets above 1500 rpm again. That's why I tuned it the way I did...I do a lot of driving through town coming home from work...and while the tune I have set may not work for everyone, it certainly works rather well for me.
