Default flowtech headers, good idea?

ok, im planning on changing my headers and y-pipe to flowtech headers and ORP...im mainly worried about clearance. Do these fit nice and snugly? my slp's scrape everything. TIA

flowtech's are prone to leaking and having a lot of other issues. get pacesetters.

I just did flow tech this weekend on a 2000 SS with a flowtech o/r y. and They fit perfect with not issues at all. This is the second set I have put on a f body and we love them. Can be installed easily in less then 7 hours. You will not have to remove coil packs, steering arm or valve covers. You will not have any clearance issues.

My 2 cents is this the best deal for the money. I got mine from thunder racing.

The flanges on the flowtechs are done sloppy. Go for pacesetters.

I'd get pacesetters over flowtech, Jet Hots over pacesetters and Kooks over Jet Hots. : )

thanks for everyone who has replied. It looks like i will invest in some pacesetters. What would be a good ORP to complement them. One with good ground clearance.

I made the mistake of putting FlowTech on my SS and they leak like no other. Now I have to replace them.
Like said before, go with Pacesetter.

I had Flowtechs on my other car with absolutely zero issues. But after some research and looking at the quality difference between the two I am going with the Pacesetters this round. They have much thicker flanges, O2 locations are on the inside, better welds, thicker gauge materials, pretty much same price. Get the coated ones as well. Texas Speed & Performance usually have them for $374.99 or so.

The Flowtechs leak and are crappily constructed. Pacesetters for sure. As far as what y-pipe, I have heard Pacesetter redid their Y and its a tad better then before. Either do that or check out TSP's ORY.
