Different MSD window switch pills?

Different MSD window switch pills? I have a window switch from probably 18-24 months ago. Bought pills at the same time. These pills have the RPM printed on a silver sticker, then stuck to the top of the white 2-prong pill. The prongs are somewhat pointed.
Now I've used these pills for my nitrous system for awhile. No problems. Now I try to use a 3000rpm pill and it doesnt work, yet it works in my buddy's window switch. The bottom of his pill has round prongs.
A few weeks ago, I figured "I'll just by new pills" so I did. I got pills that have no silver sticker with RPM printed on it, and just the RPM printed directly onto the pill and these have round bottoms, not pointed.
Are there different versions of window switches/pills? I haven't had a chance to test out the ones I just bought, but they are the exact same as the one I borrowed that didn't work.
Any thoughts?
