Default KILLED LS1 camaro at the track this sunday

Yep i anihilated him!

Actually this thread is a shameless plug to let everyoneknow of my new best 1/8 mile times.

So my first pass was against a stock LS1. I was on pump gas boost and had my pump gas map loaded and i went a new personal best of 7.94 @ 90 mph on that pass. The LS1 went 8.707 @ 84.3.

Sot hen i decided to load my race gas map and turn the boost up a little. Next race i get is another LS1 camaro...VERY loud, and VERY lumpy idle. Also he was spraying. I have no idea how much, but i heard the purge as he was staging. Light goes green, I get the RT on him. .045 to his .110 BUT he outlaunches me he pulls a 1.55 and i pull a 1.71. I end up missing a gear and running 7.88 @ 89 he runs 6.77 @ 102

I decide to go for one more pass, finally all works well and i pull off a 1.62 60 foot and a 7.72 @ 91 mph 1/8 mile.

Race gas tune helped a pretty good bit. Hopefully ill have some vids in the next day or two.

Great!

But you must know that a story always works better when we know what YOU are driving. Don't ya think?

"Less than $600 in mods.
What do i drive? A vehicle of some kind with 4 wheels."
Thanks for the clue...

nice job man, sounds like that Evo is getting KILLER fast. I raced an Evo VII this morning and nailed him, but obviously he aint running your kind of setup hehehe. nice passes too man, good times.

so far ALL my mods are

Intake
turbo back exhaust w/test pipe
10.5 hotside
ECU + piggyback
Cam gears -5/-5
255 lph fuel pump
ngk copper bpr7es plugs
boost controller

that is pretty much it for go fast goodies, i have the SS clutch line and the restrictor pill removed, but i dont think that does much for speed.

how do you like your ACT clutch? Is it the street disc? My clutch took a dump on that 7.72 pass and im considering the ACT heavily.

oh another thing i forgot to mention, i was riding the rev limiter 60 feet formthe finish line. So my time may have been faster had i shifted.

The ACT HDSS is an awesome clutch, when this goes I will be getting another. The twin disks, are not worth it, you need some kind of weak link in an AWD car. I would rather it be the clutch and not the trans or t-case.

LOL

to be honest, i think i DID redlight against the first camaro. But i didnt redlight the rest of the night. the only vido i dont have is the first one unfortunately.

99badta

how many miles do you have on that ACT clutch? And how does it feel now? This is my second clutch, and i just can NOT go around replacing clutches every 11 or 12k miles. It's wearing on my pocketbook. Also, if you can recall about how many launches do you have on th is clutch? I only have about 15 full on drag launches on this one and its dead already.

I have about 15-20 launches on ACT, it is a great clutch, close to stock feel but way more clamping force.
