car? I hope so. So far my car's fastest trap is 115.10 with the 3.42's and @ full weight. I've heard of people trapping 117 with the same mods I have. Why am I not?

4.10's will work better for ya but in a 10 bolt with a M6 it will not last long at all. I blow 2 of them up until I figured this one out.

If your going to drag racing a M6 you need a 9 inch or a 12 bolt rear end.

I picked up .2 sec in my 60' and 2 mph going from 3.42's to 4.10's

Thanks man, gives me some hope. Before the 4.10's I shifted into 4th about 20' before the traps, so what you're saying supports my theory.

Yeah a 9" is in my future real soon. I'm trying for 11's on the 10 bolt, if I acheive that goal I plan on some stageII heads a 9" and a dyno @ Thunder or FMS.

When you say "lower" gears, I assume you mean that 4.10 is "lower" than 3.42 (counterintuitive)? In any case, your car might run quicker but slower by going to 4.10. A sealevel, ours runs quicker and faster with 4.10 versus 4.29. Too many factors to detail here.

Yeah a 4.10 ratio is considered "lower" than a 3.42 ratio, thats what I was saying anyway. I hope for a higher trap speed as a result of greater torque multiplication from the lower ratio.
