how much of a difference would i get from changing my 2:41 rearend up to a 4:11 or alike gear, its an 8.5 10 bolt posi with a 4 speed close ratio in an 81 camaro. the trans gearings are 1-2-3- then a final drive of 1:1 like a 700r4. how much mph will this cut off in 4th gear, i just dont want to be stuck topping out at like 80 mph.

going from a 2.41 to 4.11 is a BIG jump...... in 4th gear what are your RPM's like at diff't speeds...... since its only a 4 speed, what do you top out now..... i'm thinkins that 4.11 may be too big of a jump, unless it's not your daily driver and dont mind cruising slow on the highway

well it wont be seeing any highway, unless i drive it to the track. its at about 55 at 2k in 4th. the speedo goes only to 85 and it can do that in 3rd. the trans is kinda weird with the gear ratios, it feels like i have a gear back there already, i had a normal trans in and you could feel the 2:41, but now with this quick ratio trans its like a 4:11, so im thinking adding a real 4:11 would make it even quicker. the trans ratio the first 3 gears are super quick and 4th is like od, i just want to know how much mph id be taking off. its about 2k@55, and 2700@65

i dont think you would realistically gain any horsepower, but it may FEEL that you gained some.... if its not gonna be seeing any highways, then slap some 4.11's and have some fun,; but no matter what, you better have some tires to get any type of traction...
