Question What size tire for Privat 9.5/18's

I am going to get Privat Profil's on the GP and want to run 17 in front, and 18 in back. I want to keep the front tires I have now, which are BFG KD's in 275/40/17, and want to match the tires in back. But, I noticed on the TireRack site, that the 18's only come in 295/35/18 or 285/30/18. Will they look any different, and will both fit on the wheels? If so, which do you guys think will look better. I currently have 17/11's in the rear with 315's, and don't like the tiny bit of rubbing I get which is why I'm changing the wheels. I like the KD's so that's why I want to stay with them.

TIA
Paul

Dont do the 17front 18 back. I have that with my Y2K's now and I'm going to sell them so I can go 18X9.5 all around Privats. For a 18X9.5 get a 285/35/18. A 30 is rather small and not as safe. They can bust a lot easyer if you were to run over something. I have 285/35/18 Pilot Sports in the rear and love them.

What's wrong with your 17/18 set-up?

i think 17's front and 18's in the back looks FUNNY dont look right
just go with 18's all around 275 front tires and 285 in the back

Default 285 Vs. 295

I've already decided to go 17 front and 18 back. That's the way my C5 Vette was, and I thought it looked fine. My original question was 285/30 vs. 295/35. BFG KD's aren't offered in 285/35, at least not at TireRack or Discount Tire Direct.

So, back to my original question - 295/35/18 or 285/30/18. Will the 295's fit on a 9.5 wheel?

For a 9.5 stay with a 285. Dont go lower the 35. Anything lower can blowout a lot easyer if you were to run over something. I still say 17/18 looks like **** but that is me.

275/35/18's for the back. I have yet to find why people buy the 285's. There is not much of a differance in width, specially for the price increase on the 2

I believe the pic of the silver SS with the Privat's have 295x35x18 tire on them, they look good. I would personally go with the 295's..

Do they make 285/40/18 or 295/40/18's? I'd just rather avoid running a 35 series tire if I can help it when I get 18's.

Why? Then the tire is taller than stock . . .
