When I drive my SS at about 70mph I am sitting about 2900 RPM with 3.70's and a 4000 stall.

How tall are your tires? I don't know how you pull that off. Going down the highway in my car, I have 342s, MT ET Street 26" tall and go about 3000 RPMs and going about 60mph. Oh and a PI 4000 stall

I personally think a non-lock up TH400 on the hwy sucks, but I race my car alot and 4L60E's just weren't cutting it for me anymore. It's a trade off...

Like I always say..swapping to a TH400 isn't for everyone

A th 00 in high gear is 1:1 ratio, same as a 4l60e in 3rd or for that matter any trans at its 1:1 gear.

yank has a lock-up th 400. put a 3.0 first in your 400 with a 10" lock-up. speed is money, "how fast do you what to go?"

At 60 MPH I am turning 3000 RPM with 26" ET Streets and 3.73 gears. Should get a little better when I put the 28's on.

To get an idea how it will feel, drive your car around in 3rd - granted a TH400 doesn't lock up the converter in 3rd like the 4L60E, but it will give you an idea. They are the same 1:1 gear in 3rd.

When you wanna go fast, there are always trade-offs. When I get tired of mine, I may try a 4L80E.
