Default Breather filter, what works ?

i did a search and i saw that you can buy a breather filter to put on the hose when you buy a lid for a 00-02 car. When i asked the guy at autozone if the breather i was going to buy works he didn't have a clue so i figured i would post a pic of it so that you guys can help me out and tell me if it will work as far as filtering quality.

I have a K&N.

I still don't understand why a filter even needs to be used...it's an AIR pump...no one has ever answered my question with a solid legitimate reason lol

the lids for the 01-02 have a provision that feeds filtered air to the AIR system already. you don't need an extra filter. If you buy a lid for an earlier model you can just buy a breather type filter that you can find at the RICE section of any AutoZone, Pepboys, etc and fit it onto that hose.

It looks like it would work. I have a K&N on mine also. That one should do fine though.

I thought only the SLP lid has the AIR pump hose hookup.

The used lid I got from TSP didn't have it, and I think I remember that none of them did...

Anyway about he breather, this is the best looking one I have seen, looks factory, I have one of those auto zone breather filters and it looks kinda out of place to me. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/269906-air-tube-breather-filter-alternative.html

Sorry, let me rephrase, I meant none of the TSP lids do. Since I bought mine used I wasn't 100% sure that there wasn't an option on TSP lids. Wasn't commenting on any of the other lids. My fault, I worded it badly

Because you don't want **** flying into the check valves or eventually in to your cats...mainly the check valves though. Those things have enough of a problem as it is...

And has been said, go back to the ricer section of Auto Zone...they have plenty.
