Yeah that driver does have some talent.
I could only dream of driving like him.
I saw another vid the other day of a guy driving it for the first time...It was in a beamer as well...He seemed like just a regular guy getting to drive on the track.

I almost got gold on the license run in the old *** 2.5 benz.. Took just a little over 9 minutes in that car..
Guess I need to go win the GTR and try my hand in a racecar instead of that beater benz. Bad *** video btw

It is nice , and it is fun . The Ruf video you talk about is called Ruf fascination. And that is a stock Ruf being put through its paces by one of Porsches premiere test drives. I believe he goes by the nick of Sideways Stef.
The track you see int the M3 GTR vid is a combination of the F1 track and the Nordschleife. Most of the time though just the Nordschleife is just open, and where most of vids come from.
Ive ran the Nordschleife a few times, My best time is 8:30 , but if the M3 GTR ran the same track ,he be a bout 2 minutes faster or the equivilent of 4kms ahead of me.

how much is the fee for running the track? do you get to take a car that they supply or your own? i noticed that it was a combo of both because of the grandstand area and the such. anyone know if they ever catch any of the people who vandalize the track?

One round is 15 Euro and you have to provide your own car which has to be licensed and insured and not exceed 95 db noise rating. I have been booted few times because of noise. Must obey all traffic laws because the track is considered a legal toll road when it is open to public (tourist) driving.

Thats awesome. I can't believe how fast he can downshift and keep that car in control. Most of the time in GT4 my car will fishtail and hit the wall going at those speeds if I don't time my downshifts and brakes correctly. Another thing I want to know is do these guys have to learn the track by heart? I mean at times he would be going at high speeds and a normal person wouldn't have the time or reflexes to slow down because of a hard turn.

Memorizing this track takes time. I have about 150 laps on it and probably just as many hours watching and replaying my videos from there. I still come up short sometimes, but its all fun.
