Default Engine "Dropping" Instructions needed

I am about to pull my motor from an 01 Z28 LS1 and was wondering if anyone has posted or a link to a website which has a decent set of step by step instructions with pictures? I have a cam in the motor right now and am going to rebuild to move hopefully to a 427 stroker motor. Is that to radical? I have hp tuners and work with a tuner will it ever run smooth if i do this? Also what is an average price for machining the motor to the specs needed? I know i can't do this myself so i just don't want to get ripped off or overcharged for service. I am in Florida so any recomendations would be helpful.

Thanks
Garrett

well for a 427 you'll need a resleeved block or a c5r one. i highly suggest a darton wetsleeve from steve demirjian from Race Engine Development. he'll do all the work except for final honing which your machine shop should be able to do. a darton wet sleeve ready for assembly willl run ~3200 bucks and a c5r is ~6k.

I did a quick run down a few months back just look under my past post you will find it if Jrp's didn't give you a good enough run down.

Thinking I might go dropping mine as well since I have a new Kmember and A Arms to go along with the new engine. Still debating getting a new TC, I want to wait to swap out the A4 for an A3. Think the dropping route will be easier, plus I can clean things up under there.

I just dropped mine two weeks ago using a book I found at Ram Chargers and help from JRP and Inspector 12 pictures. It really wasn't that hard. It took me a while because I was being carefull but now I should be able to breeze through it.
