Default wheel weights

I want to remove the wheel weights from outside of my rims. Is there a trick to getting them off or can you just pop them off with a pair of pliers.

Some weights use adhesive - http://www.ultimategarage.com/tech-chem.html says how to get the old adhesive off

You can probably remove the clip-on weights with pliers, but there is a "wheel weight tool" made for doing it... here's one: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg.../-/B0002STTPM/

If you remove the weights you will need to have the wheels re-balanced, so let the tire shop do it
