Street Racing & Kill Stories - S281 Vs 01 Ss

Leaving the car show get on the parkway see a nice red S281 conv sounds sweet older dude driving let him know I want some he oppliges we slow down to a 5mph and he gets the slight jump i spin bad in first and then pull even in second then proceed to put two buslegths on him when I was well into third.Was nice guy gave me thumbs up when he went by.My mods are H/C and full bolt ons.

Nope the old s351's with the superchargers are the bad boys. Only seen one my entire life......and that thing SCOOTED.


The S281's can be either a regular old cobra motor, or a supercharged version.

This was the supercharged saleen saw the blower.

my friend has a black s281 saleen supercharged. the only aftermarket part he has is an x pipe. but speed wise the car aint to impressive. he constanly loses to slightly modded ls1 z's and t/a's.

Sounds about right. They aren't really made for the straight line stuff like the new 03-04 cobras are. They are definately a road race car on the street. Good kill!

I think the SC281's are rated at 390 at the crank. It's not like racing a Terminator which puts that much to the ground or close to it stock. Plus, they don't have forged internals so ya can't turn 'em up.

S281 - SOHC (not cobra dohc) engine with boltons. ~300hp or so
S281sc - roots supercharged SOHC w/ boltons. ~380hp or so
S281-E - Twin screw supercharged SOHC w/ boltons. ~445hp or so

That's just the engine. They have a fully tricked out suspension and lots of other goodies too.
