Default anyone have any good results going to 1 7/8 stepped headers

weather it be dyno or track, anyone have good results on a good h/c package 460rwhp+ or on a built motor around 480-540rwhp stock cube only going from 1 3/4 to a stepped header?
ive seen different combos loose and some gain, so im trying to narrow it down to this type setup.

Not really the comparison you are looking for, but I made 352 rwhp and 356 rwtq on a bolt on motor (stock cam and heads) on a early 2000 T/A with a M6, 35 spline 9" w/4.11, and steel driveshaft. This was with Kooks stepped 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 headers, o/r y, LS6 intake, McLeod twin w/alum flywheel, and steel driveshaft. I am also still running the stock pulleys with an overdriven Evans mechanical water pump and using the early style heads which supposedly don't make as much power as the newer 2000 castings. This was also done on stock 17" wheels with 285/40 17 KDW tires. All in all I do not think they are hurting me any. If the 9" cost 3% more HP than a stock rear, then that would put me at about 363 rwhp which I would think exceeds what I should have with my few mods.

I think Alan Futral runs a 1 3/4 stepped header.

I just put a set on to replace my damaged 1 3/4 headers,I personally don't expect
to see any gain in the switch.

My new motor has the stepped 1 3/4to7/8 Kooks. I can't tell you if they made a differance though. To many other changes to have an opinion.

I made nothin more and actually lost some tq going to a stepped header.
I went back to a 1 3/4 full length and sold the stepped to a guy w/a stroker...

Did you go with the 3" or 3.5" collector? I am going to run the 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 Kooks w/ a 3.5" collector on my 346 (EDC heads,+-13.1~cr, cam, ported fast 90mm, etc.) I am building the car to run in Super Stock and Quick Stock-it's an m6 so I won't be setting any records-should be fun though

I am planning on trying a few different header combos on the car to see which works best-I've changed just about everything on the car from last year.

Don't think of the M6 as a disadvantage
