What happens when my stall gives up?
I'm having serious problems right now, I have first and second gear and that is it. The 4L60E I'm running is supposed to be built to take a lot more power than I'm throwing at it (370RWHP max) and I bought this stall second hand and from what I know it has never been rebuilt. Any info you guys and give me would be GREATLY appreciated. Looks like I'm gonna have to get the check book out regardless.

That sucks I just blew a lot of money on an already built tranny and it can't handle that little of hp?
What would happen if the stall went out? Just curious if I'm not describing it well. But your probably right, back to the drawing boards.

The converter doesn't know about 1st, 2nd, 3rd; if it slips
freely at idle and pushes hard by the time you get up near
its nominal RPM, then it's doing the job. Anything that's
different, gear by gear, has to do with the gearbox (in
this case a stack of planetaries and various controlling
gizmos).
Now, depending on personal hygeine the converter could
have something to do with the cause. But I suspect the
effect is to be found in the trans. How's your warranty?
I wouldn't mention the used converter, if you mean to
collect on that....

before you go beating your trans builder with a bat and getting locked up for attempted manslaughter, make sure (with some sort of scanner/ hptuners/ whatever you can use) that is is DEFINETLY mechanical. it could be a 50$ shift selenoid or it could be the trans itself.
if it is mechanical in the trans, break out the baseball bat and wear latex gloves (fingerprints).

Thanks for the responses. I have a guy that's gonna take a look at it tonight. Got my fingers crossed that all it is, is the 3-4 clutch pack since looking through the build sheet that was still stock. I guess it was my fault since I saw the sheet before I bought the tranny, just fell for the ad saying "built to handle boost." I'm just a slightly modded NA car.
Thanks again

OK, cars fixed here's all what had to be replaced:
2/4 band
Forward clutches
3/4 clutch pack
pump gasket & o-ring
and filters
Runs great now and hoping to get it properly tuned here in the near future so I don't fry this puppy again.
