This is on our 2001 Camaro SS

1st Converter:
I had well over 70K miles on this converter, it was used with 2600 miles on it when I bought it here on LS1Tech. Only problem was when going uphills, it would throw a PO757 code and sometimes putting me in limp home mode (only 2nd). I would clear the code and continue driving with the selector in 3rd and no more problem.
1) Type of converter and stall/STR
PI Vigilante 3200/2.17 STR
2) Tranny cooler (if any)
B&M 24K
3) Tranny rebuilt
OEM
4) Problems encountered
Broke Torsen Differential and trans internals
5) Best ET/MPH and tire used
12.443 @ 108.19 on M/T ET Streets (26x10.5x15)

2nd Converter:
I have had about 20K miles on it so far, no problems as of yet ... unless no traction with street tires can be considered.
1) Type of converter and stall/STR
B&M HoleShot 2400/2.0 STR
2) Tranny cooler (if any)
B&M 24K
3) Tranny rebuilt
OEM
4) Problems encountered
None
5) Best ET/MPH and tire used
13.07 @ 104.5 on M/T ET Streets (26x10.5x15)

tcissf3500, 2.5str.
12.8X, had for 7k miles then lockup clutch started slipping. nitto dr's.

now-
tci ssf 3800 2.5str- 24000gvw cooler transgo shiftkit
had for 4k miles so far, all is good with it so far. best run was a 12.80 with a horrible high 1.87 or 1.89 60ft on the nitto dr's. it hits the tires WAY too hard. i feel like if the car dead hooked and didn't break (don't think it would with the 2.73's) it could go 1.60 60ft. i this was also in 40* weather and a shitty track.

hitting the tires hard isn't necessarly a bad thing though, just takes getting used to and definetly takes dicipline which i have learned. i can slip into the throttle with the nitto's hot on the street and beat awd cars out of the hole- in 35* weather!!

TCS 4200 T/C 2.7 STR
45,000+ miles
B&M Tranny cooler
Stock tranny
1.56 60' 11.76@113.66 w/ 26x11.5x16 ET Streets

Only problem has been that the street tires don't like it.......if you consider that a problem

1) Type of converter and stall/STR- Vig 3200/2.17
2) Tranny cooler (if any)- B&M 24,000
3) Tranny rebuilt- OEM
4) Problems encountered- Throws a P0757 code every once in a blue moon, usually if I'm driving in stop and go w/ the car in OD. Driving in D in stop and go remedies the problem.
5) Best ET/MPH and tire used- 12.20 @ 110 using a Nitto DR.

Converter was purchased used w/ about 30,000 on it and I've probably put another 8-10,000 on that w/ no converter related problems.

1) Yank 3000 stall, ? STR
2) B&M 24k Cooler
3) Factory Trans let go, swapped TC into new one
4) None
5) 1.41 60', 11.001@ 122 (3550lbs, STOCK TRANS AND 3.23 REAREND) 26x8x15" ET Drags
Over 30,000 miles, 600+ passes and loads of nitrous on this little TC.

Although the TC has a great effect on ET/MPH due to efficiency, I would think you'd want to highlight the 60' different TC's get.

I think you need to look at driving habits and if they got a tune for the converter.

1) Type of converter and stall/STR Yank ST3500
2) Tranny cooler (if any) B&M 24000
3) Tranny rebuilt No
4) Problems encountered Shift points had to be reset, still
shifts weird sometimes.
5) Best ET/MPH and tire used N/A

Converter has seen well over 70,000 miles on a 122000 mile car.
Edit: I used to get a tranny code in the winter until I swapped the cooler lines for winter where the fluid goes through the B&M first.

Are you sure it is not the TCC locking up. It will feel like it is the last shift and sloppy/slow.
