I bought my T/A used and wanted to know how would I tell if it has an aftermarket catback. It still has the stock manifolds and cats.

the tips will be round, hang kinda low for the huge bumper cutouts, not that loud and just as rusted as the y pipe. all a matter of getting under there and looking. nice buy, i like the pewter ws6

Actually the tips are kindof oval shaped. It's like they were square and then all 4 corners rounded off. Also, the stock muffler is enormous and everything is welded together.

I think its aftermarket because the tips are chrome dual-dual. I hope they didn't just change the tips, seems like that would be a waste of time and money. Now to find out what kind of catback. The tips kinda look like the Corsa's, and the exhaust note kind of sounds like the one on there website.

if so, your lucky kinda. corsa is expensive. its just not very loud. it might say on the muffler itself.

The best way to check, what does the muffler say on it. They could have bolted up a new muffler or what not. Tips on a TA are going to be almost square with rounded ends to them, z-28 with have square tips. If the muffler is only a foot long, then you have a new system on there.

Now that I have looked at the pictures on ls1sounds, I'm sure that the tips are Corsa's. I can't check the muffler right now because I'm stationed in Korea right now and my car is back in the states. Thanks for all your help, and go out and enjoy those LS1's. God know's I'm going to enjoy mine. I'll be in Hampton Roads when I come back to the states in September, so I'll be needing some of you guys in VA to give me the scoop on the local scene. Once again thanks for all your help.
