Default which is faster?

what will a ls1 c5 6spd run. Compared to a ss ls1 6spd. I would think the corvette is lighter and has a better launch becuz of the irs.

It should be the vette by a length or two but I bet it would be real close. My son has an 02 Z 28 and he beats corvettes all the time on the street. If the vette was an automatic it would lose forsure.

but what if the automatic vette had a loose converter in it?

"forsure"

and aboot IRS..
i heard that it puts down less power than a "solid" axle
more parasitic
also heard its harder to launch with IRS
but thats what the GTSlow guys say

can someone who knows what they are talking about chime in?

Hey...we do know what we are talking about. Anyone who gives you a definite answer does not know what they are talking about. Asking a question that does not have a definite answer is not necessarily a wise question. Which is better? almonds or peanuts... get it... depends on an infinite set of variables. My stock silverado is just as fast as an s 2000 honda at a stoplight drag race. So what? There is not an answer to your question.

I'm thinking this might be in the

Bone stock LS1 M6 C5's are faster than bone stock LS1 M6 SS's with the same driver. Change anything including the driver and who knows.

Hey, leave my nuts out of this!!!

Yeah, life is full of variables, but most things can be hypothisised...and then argued ad-nuaseum

Track vs. Street are two different worlds, I'll tell you that.

On the track its a driver's race.

During a roll-on race on the street, a stock Vette will eventually overtake a stock F-body.

It's all in the aerodynamics, weight/power ratio, of course the stock speed limiter in the F-body. Of course I'm talking stock.

LS1`s is really a big world to discuss , though , in my opinion I think that ls1`s differs from one to another , I think its a luck game .
u can find a lot of Z28 that could pulls a vette`s like a penuts and also the opposite , for example ; on dynos u could put 2 ls1`s , as a result u could find 1 of them has 260hp on wheels and another has a 300 , that depends how the car is active from the factory and how u trained your car on its first miles.

Also, there are different timing tables that are put into the comp's from the factory. If you got a goofy one, you got a "lemon", but you could get the good timing tables and have a "freak"
