Default ? on changing fuel filter

I have just one quick question that I could not find the answer to using search. What is the best way to release the pressure in the fuel lines to change the fuel filter? My car is an '01 and I've only changed it once and it was the dealer that did it, so I'm not sure of thew proper procedure. Thanks in advance for your help!

On the front of the driver side fuel rail there is a shrader valve, like one on a bike tire. Just get a small screwdriver to push the valve with and it will relieve the pressure. Make sure to have lots of towels to soak up any gas that comes out.

This is a really good write up with pics and such. They may take a bit more precautions than seem necessary, but a good guide especially if your doing it the first time.

How often should the filter be changed?
