Default Dowel Rods?

Where can I buy the 5/16 rods to hold the lifters up? How do I need to modify them to make them work?

Any hardware store should have them (the wooden ones). I sanded down the side of the one that I used on the driver's side so that it was flat instead of completely round. Just used a file to do this since the wood is so soft to begin with.

I bought mine at a steel shop. You should have on near you, one that specializes in bolts and stuff. Make sure that they are longer than your cam!!!
About 2 feet. I used a grinder and I made both of mine flat on one side because I had trouble getting them in either side. After they were grinded, like cake!!! Also make sure that you don't bump on out ANY while taking the cam out. Hope this helps.

I used 5/16 for the drivers side but couldn't fit it in the passenger side. For the passenger side i used 3/16 wrapped in velcro.

Just go get 5/16 brake line from an auto parts store. Then put it in a vice and oval it, make a point at one end and a handle on the other.

I did the same thing, my rods were a bit too big so I sanded them down. Worked perfect.

lots of people like to round the ends a bit for a smoother entry as well, and if you're using metal, lube that baby up

YIKES what a post
