This is for a 3 year period as well.
I do not know if I trust stats like this. For one thing were these deaths caused by another party or what?
If a semi runs me over while I am stopped at a light can they show me as a statistic since I was in a 2001 LS1? If so it is a matter of chance and means nothing to me.
I would need to know what population and criteria was used.

Driving style has more to do with risk taking and statistical deaths.
Mustangs are slow and dont inspire confidence, so people drive them accordingly, and they arent as high on this list.

It is difficult to put all of those vehicles in the same category. There are several different factors that put each of those vehicles in the top 10. The Camaro/Firebird didn't make that list because it is physically unsafe to drive, they made it because of the dumbasses who think they are in the Fast and the Furious and end up doing something stupid! The number of 16 year old behind the wheel of a performance car have increased. I'm not saying all 16 year olds can't handle a car of this power, but it would be safe to say that the majority can't. The Blazer and Kia's, on the other hand, are very unsafe vehicles IMO. Some of those vehicles could take a life in a small collision. The mirage can't even get out of its own way, let alone someone else I am sure the stats on the Tracker also show a younger median of drivers. Although, I am a bit surprised to see the Mustang isn't on there. Maybe they average the numbers with how many are on the road? Who knows... doesn't seem very "on the number" to me. Just my opinion...

I KNEW IT!!!!!
I had a 1996 Blazer 2dr(a little older than in the list) and I always called that thing the "DEATH TRAP". It was scary as crap driving that thing with the "touring" suspension, felt like it was gonna flip over all the time(even driving straight) The POS brakes didn't help either with the faulty ABS system. That's one vehicle I'm glad I don't have anymore.

The firebird and camaro are the same car. Firebirds 3, and the Camaro is 8? Thats a laugh and a half. They can play with their numbers all day. The only reason the cars are up there is because they are fast, and cheap. This means the average Joe can go out and buy one, lose control and slam it into a tree.

I think Zangel is right, since it's off "per million vehicles". No idea what the #'s really are, but I'm betting there's more Stangs on the road than ta/camaro's, which would lower the average.

Way to go GM, you have half of the top 10.
Seriously though - those blazers have way too much weight up high, on too narrow of a track. My S-10 on the other hand was pretty fun. Especially a little lower.

I don't care what kind of car your driving, if your talkin about getting hit by another car thats one thing, but if you get hit by a truck or semi all bets are off, no matter if you got 50 side air bags or not.
