Default Thinking of selling stealth II for F13 opinions?

Hmmmmm I have a Stealth II in the garage right now that I was going to install in my 01 Z06. But I'm thinking maybe I should get the F13 on a 114.

It would be stock heads with longtubes and that is about it. The 01 Z06 has a stock 116 lSA so the stealth really would be stealth. If I was only giving up 10rwhp I'd probably just do the stealth. But I see some incredible numbers on stock ls1 heads, you'd think I'd get a bit more with the LS6.

What I don't want is Peaky powerband or a need to change my 3:42 rear (remember the Z06 has a lower geared tranny too)

What do you guys think??

I'd go with the F13 if I were you. Keep in mind that cam idles very well on a 112 LSA (it doesnt even lope, it just kind of chops), so if you're getting a 114 it will probably not be very noticeable at all. Some have made up to 430rwhp cam only with the F13, and I've seen a lot of 405-415 numbers. Put it with your LS6 heads, and you'll be making some serious power. And buy the F13 before the 18th and you'll get a damn good deal too

Yeah the sale is kinda what is getting me thinking, I had an XER 232/230 on a 114 in my WS6 it was "peaky" but I've heard that is a trait of reverse split cams. That car needed gears in the worst way, that is kinda why I went with the Stealth II, I just want cam\headers\nitrous car. Don't want to mess with the gearing, I would have bought a regular C5 if I was going to do that.

The F11 is another consideration, I wonder what the power band would be on a 114....

Having the lighter C5 will help... but it will still feel pretty peak-y.

As long as you keep it on a 114, it should be ok in the Z06.... I just like how refined those cars are and it would be nice to hang on to that refinement. Valvetrain noise will seem pretty annoying with either cam, so I certainly hope the new power distracts you

I ordered HPTuners for us, btw. I dont know how long they take to ship. I'll be in Belgium Sunday for 2 weeks... so I may not get it till I get back. And did I tell you I ordered TEA LQ9 Stage 3s? I should just call you wait... my damn cell phone is out of juice, and thats where your # is.
crap.

Has any of you owned a Stealth II?
I have, and this cam will impress a lot of poeple.
How much can you get realisticaly from a FM13?
I made 404/483 with an A4 (built), VIG 3200 and 3.73 rear.
That cam will make 420 rwhp garanteed with any M6 Z06, with bolt ons and the right fuel and tune.
And what this cam has is more trq down low and equal Hp on top.
That is what it was designed as by Colonel, stock behavior with a vicious bite.
IMO, basing my judgement on my experience, do not bother, just match the rest of your combo to each other.

Auto transmission torque multiplication. In a M6 it would likely be in the 380s.

Man if I could get a gaurantee of 420rwhp there would be no question in my mind I'd stick with it I don't think anyone is ragging on it including me I went through alot as I had wanted a F13 for my next LSx project, and after much research and soul searching decided on the Stealth.

My decision then was based on two things that are no longer a factor.

1. I was planning on running stock LS6 exaust manifolds, and holding off for headers into the distant future. Now the mod bug has hit me as hard as ever and I would be very suprised if a set of Kooks didn't show up in my driveway very soon.

2. I didn't want to mess up the "feel" of the Z06 like Chris stated. I have a friend with a LG5 x3 top end Z06 which is unquestionably a BAD *** car. But that is not what I want for this project. This is still a concern but not sure if it is warranted on the right grind of F13. Plus now that I am used the car I can be more forgiving.

After talking to Chris and Predator-Z reminding me of his HP number (thanks BTW ) I'm going to install the Stealth with the RPC kit instead of the 918's I was going to. That way if I wanted to go bigger later I could and really a used Stealth is worth around 250 and mine as it sits is probably worth around 300 so not a big deal if I decided to sell it later.

Thanks to those who replied to help me think this through.... Jesus I'm like a woman that can't decide what to wear

Here are the numbers with a "small cam" on the Z, this cam is very close of a stealth II but as you see in my sig it's comming from TSP.

i just installed the f13 on a 112 in my 04 Z06 and i lost none of the refinement of having a vette. this is also untuned with out any cats. as some one said the lope is very tame. hell my buddy even told me that this is the "ultimate sleeper." once i get it tuned i am sure it will smooth out even more.
