Can you break into the 11's with a bolt-on car with a LS1 intake? What the quickest anyone has run with a LS1 intake and/or factory '99 manifolds? I want to break into the 11's with my '99 Z28 and I'd like to know if its possible to get there with these part(s).

Yes it definatly can be done, WS6Luvr did it a LONG time ago in his 99' M6 WS6.

raughammer went 11.50's with just bolt-ons with his 98 (i think before there even were LS6 intakes)

I went 11.95 in my bolt-on m6 back in 1/01 on a stock clutch and a 10 bolt with a 3450 raceweight. The M6 record is MUCH lower now <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

The record holder has an LS6 intake and Mac headers.

Absolutely. If I'm not mistaken, Raughammer went 11s with stock manifolds, cats, LS1 intake and a little Vig2800 converter.

Mike Tuxward here in De. is runnin 11.8's at 115 with only Hooker long tubes a little bitty 2800 Vig and 3.73's.Its a 98 Z sittin at 3300 lbs and a 1.58 60' on ET Streets.


I think thats pretty danged impressive.

Raughammer and I both went 11.56 with internally stock engines and LS1 intakes.

And i also went 11.97 way back in the day with cats, exhaust manifolds, LS1 intake, 2800 vig, completely stock suspension, blah, blah,... the car was a KILLER in street racing... quiet, quick and looked/sounded stock.

(no cam, heads, ....just basic bolt ons and home made free mods)
