Default 245/275 tires for 335rwhp? moore9911 rims on ebay?

Right now I have some crappy, all season 245/50-16's on the back of my formula with stock 16x8's and they don't stick at all. I'm putting down 335 rwhp and 1st gear has too much power for them to hold traction nearing redline. The car has SFC's, LCA's, and a panhard bar. I'm not sure how long I'll be keeping this car, so I'm trying to get away from buying wider rims so I can fit wider tires. So if I get some cheaper performance tires (Kumho 712's or Sumitomo HZR's) in 245/50r16 should they get pretty good traction or should I definitely get some 17x9's with some 275's?

If I should get wider rims, this guy on Ebay has some pretty cheap rims I was looking at. I don't want to get some rims and have them crack a year down the road or something... Here's a link to one of this auctions.

Can anybody help? I need to buy tires in the next couple days but don't want to throw my money away buying tires that won't give me the traction I need...

If you want traction using your factory 16x8 Formula wheels you can use a drag radial. Nitto makes a 245/50/16 and BFG makes a 255/50/16. Both will fit a 16x8 wheel.

Thumbs up

Moore... is a good seller!.. I've read several posts here by very satisfied people... I'm seriously considering a set of either chrome Z06 or ZR1s from him myself

I would go with 17 x 9s or 9.5s and do 275/40/17s all around... or 275 fronts and 285 or 295 [10" rim !] rears..

More contact patch = better grip.. but it also means bad traction during rain/snow!!

Either way, 275/40/ZR17 tires are my pick!.. thats the way all LS1s should have come from factory!!

Goodluck
