Default Broke my brand new Privat Profil...PICS!

I hit something and it went through the side wall and hit the wheel right on the lip. Broke it instantly. I never did see or find what I hit but I know it was small. Sorry for the pic quality but its a camera phone.

First I am happy...then sad. I had all my co-workers laughing at me. The chuncks scratched up my rear caliper but nothing else. Enjoy my misery.

I have no clue. I went back and looked but didn't see anything. I don't remember seeing anything in the road either. There is a dent right by the split on the lip of the wheel were something definitely hit it hard. I walked up and down the interstate in rush hour and never saw anything. Got quite a few people pissed I am sure.

Things happen though, I'm just thankful I didn't get thrown into the gaurdrail or under a semi. Too bad they are on a six-eight week back order now. Thanks to LS1tech.

Damn that sucks! I noticed that Discount Tire sells them, and their inventory said "in stock". Not sure if that included black ones too.

I tried discount tire and they are out of stock of the black ones as of 3pm today. I tried a bunch of places actually and none have them. Privat is a division of Konig and I even called them and they said the same thing. BO!!! So for the time being I get to look like a idiot and run two on the front and my OEM SS wheels on the back.

What ever I hit it couldn't have been that big. There was nothing on the road anywhere. I looked for about 30 minutes. People kept honking at me and shouting at me as they passed by. My guess is that it cut the tire on the sidewall and deflated rather quickly (read loud bang) then the wheel landed on it on the lip and it went downhill from there.

I would. I think my situation was an isolated incident. A lot of things had to fall into place for this to happen. I am totally satisfied with the wheels. I just got careless and banged the crap out of one of them. Had I not been running drag radials I think I would have been ok. The side wall has a slice all the way through and the tire colapsed on the rim. Whatever punctured the tire was between the ground and the rim when it came crashing down. I head two very distinct and very loud bangs. I can only assume the first was the tire and the second was the wheel giving way. It was hit directly on the lip real damn hard. I figure just about any wheel would have been damaged in the same or similar manner.

That sucks dude. But since the front is fine, have the backs cut off and get the wheel widend to a 10.5 or 11.

that is some serious damage. Depending on how long it might take u to replace that rim, you might want to check this place out. http://fixrim.com/ They might not be able to fix that though. But if you can't get a replacement for another 6 months or something it might be a good temporary solution.
