275/40/17 on a 8" rim?
It's time to get some tires(fronts are gone) they are 245/45/17 on a 17x8 rim. My rear tires are in great shape and are 275/40/17 on a 17x10 rim. Could I put the 275/40/17's on the 17x8's and buy some 315/35/17's for thw 17x10's??

If you INSIST on doing this, go with Nittos. They are known to be a little narrower than other tires. 8.5" would be a stretch but at 8", you really are pushing the limit.

I wasn't insisting on anything I was just asking a question. Just looking at them I can tell you that the 245/45/17's look too narrow on the 8" rim(rim sticks out past tire) and the same thing goes for the 275/40/17's on the 10"rims. I was just hoping that I could put the 275's up front and only have to buy rear tires instead of all 4. Oh well I guess I will have to live with the 275's on the rear and buy some 255's for the front for now.
Thanks for your input guys.
