Default 3.42 to 3.73?

I have the stock gears right now in my M6, bought richmond 3.73, which I am installing soon. Anyways I was told that I wouldn't notice a difference at all from going from 3.42 to 3.73 and that I should just go with 4.10s. Is this true?

Traction in 1st will be an issue, but I'd go with 4.10s unless you do a lot of long distance highway cruising
