Default ET Streets vs. Street Tires

I was planning on going to the track for the first time, and have a pair or et streets that I was going to use. My car is an automatic with stock converter, 3.23 gears, and most bolt-ons. Will I have anything to worry about with my rear end if I use the et streets? Or should I just use my street tires (BFG G-force KDWS) to be safe? TIA

You have nothing to worry about. I have pulled many 1.4X sixty foot times on my stock 10 bolt with no girdle.

If your rear is on it's last leg, you might want to be weary.

If you're confident it's still strong, then you should be alright.

Since you have a stock converter you should have nothing to worry about. If you were using a stall converter or an M6 then you might need to worry.

Be carefull on the launches, as the stock stall and ET Streets will cause a bog right after you launch. It won't break anything, but it is terrible for your 60' times if the track is some what prepped. You might need to air the tires up, do not run them at low PSI like most stalled auto and manuals do.

So what launch would you recommend? And thanks for all the input guys. I was going to run them at 20psi to try at first, what would you recommend? should i try more like 30 at first?

20 PSI is a good start. And launch from idle. If you feel the car can handle more rpms, then go ahead and try. Same with PSI, if it doesn't hook either do a longer burnout or lower the PSI. If the car bogs, air up the tires. Good luck!
