HAhah good one, seriously I've actually heard of that...

My question is why on earth would you want to do something like that?

GMPP makes one too.

They're nice for hot rod projects and stuff.

Why put a carb on an Ls6, well for one thing it's a whole lot cheaper, simpler in design, no worries about low batt= burning up your motor if it goes lean. That's why carbs have been around for about a hundred years., because they work. By the way GM is in the process of coming up with a distributor set up to eliminate the coil over plug set up.

There's an article in Popular Hotrodding and in Feb. issue of Hot Rod where they both mention that GM will be selling a distributor set up for the Ls motors, plus a mechanical fuel pump set up. Edelbrock has come up with a single plane intake to compete with GM's. For 700.00 vs. thousands for F.I. there is no loss in H.P. or torque.

And they will most likely get an intake that really works. Good fortune will rain upon the person that comes up with an affordable LSx Fuel Injection intake that really works well.

I talked to Tony at AFR and in his opinion the carb/ intake set up will work very well with the AFR heads.

Why would the heads work any different between fi or carb? The carb intake is supposed to be able to put out some better numbers. There really is not a big difference if you buy a used motor tranny wiring combo. I've seen them for 2500 for computer, wiring, long block and tranny. You can't beat a fuel injection system for fuel economy and performance. No jets to change with weather conditions.

There's no question that a FI is more user friendly and more flexible, but at the same token for a hotrod with basic wiring( 69 Camaro) and used only during good weather, the idea of using a basic carb setup is hard to beat especially when the far less expensive cost is factored in.

As long as it makes a ton of power, the simpler the better as far as I'm concerned.
