Default ? about power

i have the stealth 2 cam and i have just recently started to really drive it. it has very little power under 3k, almost none. i cant do a burn out with nitto drags? i have a stock stall and 2.73 gears, these are cold tires at 28 psi. i have a lid, hooker longtubes and offroad y-pipe, moved shift points with hpp3, ported throttle body. i cant brake torque the tires loose or even get them to spin off the line, if i nail it around 20 they will light up. nothing really out of the ordinary wrong with teh car besides one thing, i was driving it today and when i was idleing around a corner i gave it gas and it bogged and backfired it only does that when its cold, and i wasnt beating on it, just gas to get it going. other then that it just counts misfires at idle which is normal. i have a converter ordered. i had some crappy stock tires on and i could light those up but i put the nittos on and now taht i have my sfc's i decided to launch it off the line. i havent drove the car but 50 miles with the nittos though. just wondering if its normal.

Yeah the convertor will help alot with the 2:73s if ya found ya some 3:42s that would be a real performance improvement over the 2:73s!It will also make the convertor feel a little tighter. Have fun ya will be lightn those nittos up before long!

You need to install that converter and put at least 3.42 to 3.73 gear in the car before it is going to run right. You should have done this before the cam.
As for the cold back fire, a computer tune will fix that and gain power everywhere alse. Everything your describing should be happening to you because the cam does not make power until around 2200 to 2500 and between that stock gear and converter it is trying to lock and go around 1700 or so, NO Power there.
