4.10 gaer, what is the safest rmp for launching?
So far I got this mods on my rear end:
ZR1 17/11" wheels
315/35/17 Nitto Drag radials
4.10 SLP gear
Panhard bar
Hotchkis 1" lowering springs
Air lift drag air bags
Q # 1: What is the safest rpm range for launching with my stock 10 bolt rear, 4.10 gear and drag radials so it won't brake on me?
Q # 2: What else should I get? For drag purpose, I'm planning on going to the track a lot this summer.

A better rear end, depends on how sticky the track is, the stickier the better and the higher you can launch at, if it doesn't spin you'll break it sooner or later.

I'd say you are on borrowed time with a 10 bolt and any kind of traction with a 4.10. If you want it to live launch low. If you plan on a 12 bolt soon launch at ~4000 or better.

don't do it with drag radials i have broken two rings launching at 4 grand. my advice would be to put the street tires on if its a m6 and ride the clutch out at the peak torque range.

If you're an M6, launch it off idle. You will break something in the drivetrain (spider gears or ring/pinion more than likely) with nittos/4.10's if you do any hard launches and get any traction.

I dont want to sound like a dick or anything but if you added 4.10's use it dont baby it giver hell. Why add any performance modifications if you aint gonna use it to its fullest potential. My stock rear (M6) was whinning like hell so I bought a 9" was willing to sell it for 2,300 but no one wanted to buy so im throwing it in this week.

I hope it will survive for at least couple months, I'll be launching slow and than go for a full throttle, I don't care about 0 - 60 I want good 1/4 mile time.

my stock 10 bolt has held up to launching my 5200 pound truck with nitrous to 1.77 60' times on ET Streets, but I have 3.73's and only a 2800 stall. wish I had 4.10's though, might get my 60' down in the lower 1.7's high 1.6's.

I was launching at 3k rpms when I had 4.10s in the 10 bolt on Nittos... and well, the gears got shredded. There really isn't much of a safe RPM level to prevent damage... you just gotta hope to get lucky if you're gonna stick with the 10 bolt.
