Default Weight of stock stall converter?

i have a 2000 trans am and i have a 3500 TCI on the way, i was wondering what the weight of the stock converter was.......anyone?

Heavy, very heavy compared to an aftermarket one. If I had to guess I'd say close to 50 lbs with fluid in it.

about 30-35 lbs i juss got my install on thursday and when i picked up my car and also the stock converter, i felt like an idiot struggling with the stock bringing it to the car. lol and now i havent been happier feeling this thing in action.

No ****, when i picked up my car from the trans shop and they brought me the stock stall and set it by my truck. I was going to go around and put the tailgate down and put it in that way, but the guys where out there with me so I had to be a man and picked it up and put it over the side of the truck into the bed. I didn't know it was that heavy.

My stock stall was 55lbs and my new converter is 28lbs

got the new TCI in the mail the other day, the shipping thing said it was 33.10 lbs, so i figure box, plus stuffing i can figure it is about 30-31 bls . Much better then 55-56..

thats dry though, its prob only 5-10 pounds lighter than stock with fluid in it at most

I got my new converter yesterday in the mail and i think it was 17 lbs.

mine was still full of fluid, guy shipped it that way on purpose..
