Default how much for a y pipe

hey guys, just wondering if you had a y pipe made, how much did it cost? or how much would be a good price to have one made? thanks alot

i had my stock one modified for $50 into a offroad pipe ....and got rid of the flat pipe.. picked up 17whp and 14 wtq

so what do you mean you got rid of the flat pipe? and did you just have them put in a 3 in pipe in its place? and do you happen to have a pic of that? thanks alot

I am trying to see what type of performance I will get out of a borla catback system with the borla y-pipe..n-e-1 have any kind of idea? or would it just be better to get a muffler shop to make one..what diameter do you recommend? i got a 01 ws6 manual....

I got a 3in y-pipe made & welded to my LT's & to the single pipe for $60

Something like the SLP Y that attaches to the stock
cats, not really. The cats are the restriction, not the
pipe. At stock airflows one pipe is about as good as
another.

Now if you were going to something like the RT catted Y
or ditching the cats and putting an offroad Y you would
pick up some power, though pretty much limited to the
very top end. No extraction, not like long tubes, just
cutting some backpressure. It helps, a bit.

The big gains come from a cam that lets the air move
and an exhaust setup that does more than allow it -
that encourages it (resonant scavenging is what the
long tubes are long, for).

But these are $ and pipe is cheap....

I have the SLP Y-pipe ^ that Jimmy is talking about, It will be for sale soon since I am getting my GMMG in soon, and will be installing my QTP's at the same time. Let me know if you are interested.

cost me $150 to have my 3" y-pipe from headers to catback made. This included two straight pipes also to interchange between cats and no cats. Everything was flanged.
