View Full Version : Jet-Hot Header GP

11-17-2002, 08:36 PM
Jet-Hot now has it's own header for LS1 F-bodies! Here are the specs:
1 3/4" primaries, long tube, 3" slip on collector
16 gauge tubes, 3/8" thick flange.
Flange is a one-piece, completely flat design, not the "protruding tube" style.
They have EGR & AIR accomodations designed around the 98-99 models.
O2 bungs are welded in the collectors.
Paper type gaskets & standard bolts are included.
Headers double coated in & out with Jet-Hot Sterling finish, so Lifetime rust-through warranty applies.
Headers are made in the U.S. of A., so the welds and tubes are of the highest quality. No cheap stuff.

Price is $511 including shipping & handling within the 48 states. Jet-Hot is offering a 2 payment plan at no additional cost as well. Basically you pay 1/2 when you order, and the credit card is billed the other 1/2 30 days later.

I don't have any pictures yet, but should within a week or so. Our prototype was sent off to get photographed to appear in GM High Tech Performance magazine, otherwise I'd snap a shot myself.

We have 25 that will be showing up in our Arizona facility tomorrow, so they can be shipped by the end of the week. If you have any questions please email me or call 800-432-3379 x112.

how long is this gp going to be going on?

11-18-2002, 09:51 AM
I knew I'd forget to post something! This is going to run until the 25 are sold, which shouldn't be long.

This is a really good price.I am very interested.I would like to some pics though.

I applaud you guys for taking the time to survey and get feedback on what potential customers want in a long tube header; however, I see no mention of a "complete" kit including Y-pipe.
To be more specific, I can't even begin to count the number of individuals who replied to the survey who need a y-pipe with cats. Please tell me you will be offering a Y-pipe with cat. converters.

Long tubes with true duals rule. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I've got a couple post to respond to here...

1. I'll get pics up as soon as I can.

2. These headers are compatible with the Hooker off road ypipe. That's the short-term solution. I've just started working on the cat issue as many have brought it up. Jet-Hot doesn't really want to get into the issue of emissions certification, so we're looking at what options are out there. At any rate, your voice is heard and we're working on it.

They couldn't be emissions certified even if you wanted to, because they change the location of the cats. So forget about certification. That's not why people want them anyway. They want them to pass a sniffer test, or a lax visual inspection, or maybe they have a little tree hugger in them, or in my case I like the sound better, they kill the rasp.

Lots of people waiting on this option, I'd venture to say none of them are waiting for or expecting any sort of certification.

Question for JetHot:

Will you have a set of these headers on display at the PRI tradeshow?

11-23-2002, 10:15 AM
We do plan to have one set at PRI.

11-26-2002, 11:27 AM
I wanted to let you know that we did sell the first run of these. Response has been good, and I thank you all for your business. As such we are going to extend this price through close of business(7pm ET) on Wednesday, 11/27/02.

If you have any questions please feel free to email or call me.

11-26-2002, 03:48 PM
Hey JetHotTodd , How about some for the LT-1 cars? I would love to have some that "look" emmissions compatible. That price would be great also!

11-27-2002, 11:01 AM
First off, I finally got some headers to take photos of today. They're not on yet, so if you want them, email me and I'll send them over.

Second, I have had requests for these headers without AIR & EGR connections. We are taking names and email addresses of those interested. If there is sufficient interest we will build them on the next production run. Let me know.

Third, we are working on LT1 headers, but they probably won't be ready for 4-8 weeks. I had no plans of putting AIR & EGR connections in them. If people are interested, now would be a good time to speak up.

I ordered mine a day after Todd posted the news. Mine should be here sometime this week. I need to do some before dyno numbers before the install. Also installing new Yank SS3800 next week as well.

I'll have all this power and then the weather will turn bad and I won't be able to use it. Come on spring!

12-02-2002, 11:13 PM
I haven't gotten mine yet but you know how things are around holidays. I reffered my neighbor accross the street & he ordered a set today! He said his would be in Thursday or Friday & that they will likely ship at the same time. If this is true, that's great with me, I'll get em just in time for the weekend install....if I get a Y-pipe by then that is...kinda hard when I keep buying stuff...hopefully Speed Inc. will get the credit thing setup soon so I can just tote the note on some other goodies! <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Todd, do I get any discounts for referring people? LOL, hook me up on a Hooker Y pipe <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> I sent Jason your way, notice the addresses <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I haven't gotten the headers yet but I'm certain they will be top quality, that & the great service makes me confident enought to recomend you guys!

We have such great sponsors!

Hey JetHotTodd, is there a possibility of still getting the sale deal. Lemme know, I would like to order a set on mon. You can e-mail me at if you can help me out.

12-14-2002, 01:15 AM
any chance of this coming around again? and what is the cost of the y pipe?

12-23-2002, 09:09 PM
I've had a few requests on when we can run this GP again. We are in the process of making more of these, so I suspect in 1-2 weeks I can run another GP. I am taking names of those who want a set with no AIR & EGR tubes, so if you would like that please let me know ASAP so I can plan accordingly.

any plans on another GP? I am interested if so...

12-27-2002, 12:27 PM
I'm still waiting on a GP run with Y and cats, or ORY and simms. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

12-29-2002, 08:02 PM
Put me down for a set without air/egr tubes. Thanks Greg

01-01-2003, 01:42 AM
If it is not to late put me down for a set w/o AIR and EGR tubes. I should have some space on the credit card for this needed item. Thanks. <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />

01-01-2003, 02:14 PM
I'm in for no air/egr.

01-01-2003, 09:17 PM
Is there going to be another gp's for the 98-99 air/egr header setup?
Also, anyone got any dyno #'s yet?

01-03-2003, 07:20 PM
Just wanted to let you guys know that the no air & egr headers are in production. There should be a GP in a couple of weeks. I'll post as soon as they're available.

We do have a guy lined up to provide dyno numbers as well. He did a run before taking off the factory manifolds and came up with 290HP. He's in process of setting up another run, but it will probably be a couple of weeks before we have the new & improved numbers.

Thanks guys!

01-04-2003, 10:49 PM
No AIR/EGR is what I need for an '02, correct? When will these be available? What else will I need other than the headers, and what comes with them? Thanks for any info you have.

35th LE SS
01-05-2003, 06:13 PM

'02's have air and no EGR. I bought the first set (98-99 which have both) and I bought a used set of air tubes(as '02 are different than 98-99) and an EGR block off plate.

The ones w/ no air and no air, require a 2002 owner to block off the air, or remove the air pump system. I think you will also get a code because your air pump will not function correctly. Unless you have LS1 edit or get a custom tune, it will keep you check engine light on and will not allow you to pass emmissions, which may or may not be a factor for you.

I think all the above is correct. If I'm wrong someone correct me.
