Last week at Capitol Raceway in Maryland I ran a 12.985@ 112mph
Well I like everyone else got the HP bug and bought a buncha bolt on's.
I bought my 2000 Camaro SS in July.
The biggest gain in HP and 1/4 mile were LT headers. I have Jett Hotts. They fit great and ground clearance is acceptable as well. However you will not get the FULL benefit from them without LS1 edit. I went from a 13.6 to a 12.9 with this mod. I have all the other mods in my signature.
However! I just dyno'd in at 360 hp/360 fpt. Great right!?!? Yeah, I can't get the power to the wheels. I haven't had a 60ft time under 2.1! So my advise is start to work on the suspension first. Buy drag radials! The power is already there with most LS1's producing over 315 anyway. Now yes I eat lightly moded cars from a roll, and alot of you out there are afraid of breaking the rear. As long as you don't dump the clutch or ask too much of it, you'll be ok. Trust me riding the clutch out with drag radials is more fun then riding the clutch out/dumping it with stock tires and spinning. I know I have a low 12 second car, but I can't get there w/o the suspension mods.
I still have the stock 3:42s. No weight reduction.
Take it as you will....
